Set Up the Discovery Flight Widget

The Discovery Flight widget is a booking page for intro flights. Visitors pick a package, an instructor, and a time, then request the flight or pay for it. Every booking lands in the CRM as a lead.

Before you start

To take payment at booking, Stripe must be connected with charges and payouts turned on. See Connect Stripe to Accept Payments.

Steps

  1. Open CRM > Widgets and choose Discovery Flight Widget.
  2. Under Style and Appearance, pick a look and a Banner image.
  3. Turn on Inquiry + Pay to collect payment at booking. Leave it off to take requests only.
  4. Under Packages, click Add to create up to 3 packages. Give each a Name (for example, "Discovery Flight for One"), Price, Description, and Aircraft.
  5. Under Customization:
    • Choose whether the customer pays processing fees and tax (with Inquiry + Pay on).
    • Set Availability on booking form to Time slot booking or Availability ranges, and set the duration, interval, and buffer.
    • Turn on Correlate with schedule to hide times that overlap existing reservations.
    • Turn on Show instructors and choose which instructors to show.
  6. Under Fields, adjust the contact questions. First name, last name, email, phone, and message are included. Click Add field for more.
  7. Check the Live preview, then click Save and publish. Your booking page opens in a new tab.

Put it on your website

  1. Click Copy.
  2. Choose HTML embed to place it on your site, or Public link to share it.
  3. Click Copy.

After any change, click Update live.

What the customer sees

The page reads Book a Discovery Flight. They choose a package, pick who they'd like to fly with, pick a time, and enter their details. They finish with Request Flight or Book and Pay Now.

After a booking

The booking shows up in CRM > Inbound Leads with its date, party size, and payment status. Schedule the flight with Add Reservation on the lead.

Tips

  • After the flight, send a keepsake postcard with a Google review link. See Send a Flight Postcard.
  • The fixed price for billing discovery flights on regular invoices is a separate setting: Billing > Settings > Discovery Flights.

Troubleshooting

  • "Connect Stripe in Billing before enabling Inquiry + Pay." Finish Stripe setup, or leave Inquiry + Pay off.
  • "Every product must have a price greater than zero when using Inquiry + Pay." Give each package a price.
  • "No link yet." Click Update live to create your booking page and embed code.
