Send a Flight Postcard
For Admin, Instructor
A postcard is a one-page PDF keepsake from a flight: your logo, the pilot, instructor, aircraft, and date, a photo, a map of the route, and a button asking for a Google review. It's a good way to end a discovery flight.
Before you start
- Postcards are a paid add-on. Turn them on in Settings > Integrations > Postcards.
- Add your Google Business Profile link: open Settings > Organization and fill in Google Maps URL. The postcard's review button uses it.
- Turn on Flight postcards in Settings > General.
Steps
- Open Flights in the sidebar. The list shows Past Flights.
- Click the completed flight.
- Click Postcard.
- In Generate Postcard, choose the photo:
- The checkout selfie, if one was taken.
- Upload selfie to add a different photo.
- Skip selfie to use the aircraft photo and map only.
- Click Find ADS-B Track to draw the actual route, if your school has flight tracking. Otherwise the planned route is used.
- Click Download PDF Postcard to create it.
- Review the preview. To email it, enter the customer's address under To, check Send me a copy if you want one, and click Send Email.
The email's subject is "Your flight keepsake from" your school's name, and it includes a Google review button.
Tips
- Send the postcard the same day while the flight is fresh. Reviews come in best right after the experience.
- Require a checkout selfie for discovery flights so every postcard has a photo of the customer in the aircraft.
Troubleshooting
- No Postcard button. Check that the add-on is active, Flight postcards is on, and Google Maps URL is filled in. The button doesn't appear while a flight is still in progress.
- "Add your Google Business profile URL in Settings first." Fill in Google Maps URL under Settings > Organization.
- "No route or ADS-B track found for this flight." Add the route to the reservation, or skip the map.
- "Only staff can email flight postcards." Customers can't send postcards. Ask an instructor or admin.
