Edit Aircraft Details and Hourly Rates

For Admin, Instructor

Each aircraft has its own page in Sky Schedule with its details, rental rate, meters, records, and check-out list. Keep these current and invoices, inspections, and check-outs stay accurate.

Open an aircraft

  1. Open Aircraft in the sidebar.
  2. Find the aircraft and click Manage Aircraft on its card.

The aircraft page has sections across the top: Database, Checkout List, Meters, Flight Logs, and Attachments. Admins also see Leaseback Reports. If your school uses a complete flight checklist, there's a Complete Flight section too.

Change details and the hourly rate

  1. On the aircraft page, click Edit Aircraft and choose Edit Details.
  2. Update the Model, Tail Number, Year, Aircraft type, Hourly Rate, or Avionics. You can also replace the Aircraft Image.
  3. Click Save Changes.

The Hourly Rate is the aircraft's rental rate. It's used for the aircraft line when completed flights are invoiced.

Set the current Hobbs and Tach

Do this when you add an aircraft, and any time the meters in Sky Schedule don't match the aircraft.

  1. Open the Meters section.
  2. Enter Current Hobbs and Current Tach. Schools that track airtime also see Current Airtime.
  3. Click Save Times.

After that, completing flights updates the meters for you. The meter log below lists every change with the time, the reason, and the reservation it came from.

Build the check-out list

The checkout list is what the pilot ticks off in Review & Dispatch before the aircraft can be checked out.

  1. Open the Checkout List section.
  2. Type an item, such as Clean windshield or Fuel sumped, and click Add to list.
  3. Repeat for each item. Every item must be ticked before Check Out works.

To reuse a list, pick an aircraft in Copy from another aircraft.

Other actions

From Edit Aircraft you can also Set Status to take the aircraft off the schedule (see Ground an Aircraft), Pull Flight Logs, or Delete Aircraft. Only admins can delete an aircraft.

Tips

  • Instructors with Can Manage Aircraft can edit aircraft details and set status. Customers with that permission can view and add records but can't edit the aircraft.
  • Keep tail numbers exactly as they appear on the aircraft. Imports and flight tracking match by tail.

Troubleshooting

  • Hobbs Out is wrong at check-out. Set Current Hobbs and Current Tach in Meters, then check out again.
  • "Maximum reached" on the checkout list. A checkout list holds up to 10 items. Combine or remove items.
  • "Duplicate item." That checklist line already exists on this aircraft.
