Connect Gmail or Outlook to the CRM
For Admin
By default, CRM emails go out from Sky Schedule's sender under your school's name. Connect Gmail or Outlook and they come from your school's own inbox instead. Leads see a familiar address, and their replies show up on the lead in the CRM.
Before you start
You need an admin account in Sky Schedule and the login for the Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 mailbox you want to send from.
Steps
- Open CRM and choose the Templates tab.
- Click Connect email.
- In Connect Email, choose Continue with Google (Gmail) or Continue with Outlook (Microsoft 365).
- Sign in and approve the permissions. On Google's screen, make sure the Gmail box is ticked.
- You return to the CRM and see Gmail connected or Outlook connected, with the address emails will come from.
The button now reads Connected to with the Gmail or Outlook icon.
You can also connect Gmail from Settings > Integrations > Gmail.
Manage the connection
Click Connected to to open Connected Email. From there you can:
- Reconnect if the connection stopped working.
- Disconnect a provider. Emails then go out from Outlook if it's connected, otherwise from the default Sky Schedule sender.
- Turn on Admins connect their own email so each admin sends from their own inbox.
If both Gmail and Outlook are connected, Gmail is used first.
Set a reply-to address
If you don't connect an inbox, set a reply-to address so leads' replies still reach you. Open Settings > Email, turn on Reply-to email, click Configure, enter the address, and click Save. You can also reach this from Reply to on the CRM Templates tab.
Troubleshooting
- "Google sign-in was cancelled or blocked." If Google says the app needs approval, contact Sky Schedule support, or connect Outlook instead.
- "Sending permission wasn't granted." Connect again and tick the Gmail box on Google's consent screen, or approve sending on Microsoft's screen.
- "Only school admins can connect this account for the school." Ask an admin to connect it.
- Replies stopped appearing. The connection may have expired. Click Connected to and Reconnect.
