Create an API Key
For Admin
The Sky Schedule API gives you read-only access to your school's data, so you can build dashboards, feed a spreadsheet, or connect a tool we don't integrate with yet. Each school has one API key.
Create a key
- Open Settings > Integrations.
- Click Connect on API Keys (or Learn More).
- Click Generate API Key.
- Click the copy button next to API key and store it somewhere safe, such as a password manager.
Keys start with ss_live_. The full key is only shown on the device where you created it. On any other device it stays hidden.
Use the key
Send the key with every request in one of these headers:
Authorization: Bearer ss_live_...X-SkySchedule-API-Key: ss_live_...
The API is read-only (GET requests). Routes include reservations, completed flights, customers, instructors, work orders, squawks, inspections, inventory, reminders, and comments. Open Endpoints in the panel to see every route, or click Open Docs for the full developer documentation.
Limits
- 100 requests per school per day, reset at midnight UTC.
- Each response includes
X-RateLimit-Remainingso you can see what's left. - Lists return 50 items by default, up to 100 per page.
Replace the key
Click Rotate key. The old key stops working right away. Update any tool that used it.
The API key is shared with the AI agent connection. Rotating it means you also need to update the key in Claude, Cursor, or any other agent you connected. Disconnecting the agent in Connect with your agent turns off the API key too.
Tips
- Click Copy for LLM to copy the developer docs in a format you can paste into an AI assistant to help write your integration.
- Never put the key in a public website or shared document.
Troubleshooting
- "Daily rate limit exceeded." You've used 100 requests today. Wait until midnight UTC, or cache results on your side.
- "Invalid or revoked API key." The key was rotated. Use the current key.
- "Invalid API key format." Check that you copied the whole key, including
ss_live_. - "Full key unavailable." You're on a different device. Click Rotate key to create a new key you can copy.
