Sell Gift Cards and Payment Links
For Admin
Gift cards and payment links let people pay you without an account or an invoice. Share the link in an email, on social media, or on your website. Both are in Billing > Catalog.
Before you start
Stripe must be connected, with charges turned on. See Connect Stripe to Accept Payments.
Create a gift card
- Open Billing > Catalog and scroll to Gift Cards.
- Click Add Gift Card.
- Enter a Title (for example, "1 Hour Simulator Gift Certificate"), a Description of what the recipient gets, and the Price.
- Add a Photo if you like, and set Taxable and Processing fee pass-through.
- Click Generate gift card.
- Copy the public link or the HTML embed for your website, then click Done.
The buyer's page asks for a quantity, their name, email, and phone, and optional recipient details, then opens Stripe checkout.
Create a payment link
- In Catalog, find Payment Links and click Add Payment Link.
- Enter a Name and Price, and set Taxable and Processing fee pass-through.
- Click Generate link.
- Click Copy link to share it, or Open to test it.
Find purchases
- Payments show up in Billing > Transactions.
- Each gift card purchase also creates a lead in CRM with the source Gift Card, so you can follow up with the buyer.
- To see who bought a gift card, click View on it. The Purchases list shows the buyer, recipient, quantity, and total.
Tips
- Turn off Processing fee pass-through if you'd rather absorb the card fee. Turn off Taxable for items that aren't taxed.
- From a payment link's View, click Create invoice to bill a known customer for the same item.
- To edit a gift card or link, click View, then Edit.
Troubleshooting
- "Connect Stripe in Billing before creating gift cards." Finish Stripe setup first. The same applies to payment links.
- "Stripe requires at least $0.50." Set a higher price.
- Deleting a gift card or link turns off its checkout page. Anyone who opens the old link can't pay.
