Turn On Arlo Watch
For Admin, Office admin
Arlo Watch has Arlo check your school on its own a few times a day. When it finds something that could stop a flight or needs a decision, it posts it in a pinned Arlo Watch chat and puts a badge on Arlo 5.6 in the sidebar. It's for admins and office admins.
Turn it on
- Click Arlo 5.6 in the sidebar.
- Open the More menu at the top and choose Settings.
- Under Arlo Watch, turn on Keep an eye on the school.
Arlo runs its first check right away and posts the results in the Arlo Watch chat. After that it checks again every few hours. To turn it off, come back to the same switch.
What Watch checks
Maintenance
- Inspections that are overdue or coming due, compared with flights already booked on that aircraft.
- Grounding squawks.
- Work orders that overlap booked flights or are past their due date.
- Aircraft whose Hobbs or Tach reading hasn't been updated in two weeks while they keep flying.
Documents
- Medicals, IDs, and other documents that have expired or expire within 30 days.
Billing
- Invoices that have been unpaid for more than 14 days.
- Membership payments that failed.
People
- Sign-ups that have waited more than a day for approval.
- Students who haven't flown in three weeks.
Utilization
- Aircraft with nothing booked for the next 7 days.
- Aircraft flying much less than usual, or a fleet-wide drop with a thin week ahead.
Read the findings
Each finding is a short row with the facts behind it, such as the number of booked flights affected or how much is outstanding. Most rows have a button that takes you to the right place, like the aircraft in Maintenance or the person's documents. Findings are sorted so anything that could stop a flight comes first.
When there's something new, Arlo 5.6 in the sidebar shows Hey, or Hey! in red when something could stop a flight. Click it to land in the Watch chat. You can also open it any time from More > Open Watch.
The Watch chat works like any Arlo chat. Reply to ask about a finding, for example "Which flights are booked on N123AB before the annual is done?"
Good to know
- Watch posts in Sky Schedule only. It doesn't send email.
- When a problem is fixed, it drops off the next check. If it comes back, Watch posts it again.
- Watch reads the same data you see in the app. Keep inspections and meter readings current in Maintenance so its findings stay accurate. See Track Aircraft Inspections and Due Dates.
Troubleshooting
- There's no Arlo Watch section in Settings. Only admins and office admins see it.
- "Couldn't turn on Arlo Watch." Try again in a moment. If it keeps failing, contact Sky Schedule support from Settings > Support.
- A finding looks wrong. Check the record it links to. A stale meter reading or an inspection with no due date is the usual cause.
